I’ve always wanted to ask an advice columnist a question. I think it would be interesting to have an unbiased party just slap me in the face with an honest opinion.
I think people get so sad they want to kill themselves, and partially its because they see the light and they know they are bound to lead an unhappy life. But part of it is punishment. What they dont understand is, they have a moral obligation to the normal members of their families, and their normal friends, and they must not give up because their loved ones wont understand their pain is so deep they don’t want to live any longer. Instead the correct punishment for such terrible thoughts, and such deep depressions, is actually to go on living life pretending you are happy to appease those around you. If punishment for yourself and your actions is what you seek, that is the unltimate punishment.
